With January well underway, and a couple of long runs under our belts, lots of us are well and truly back into our Spring Marathon training. We are focused on our “A” race and have a plan to get us there. But what about those who didn’t get into their chosen “A” race. Those who received the sorry you didn’t make it magazine. Where did they opt for instead?

Here our our top 5 alternative April events, that you may like to consider for 2017.

Part of The yorkshire Marathon Series, with a city centre start and finish, the event boasts a super scenic route – with stunning views of the Peak District for those who conquer the climb to Ringinglow.

And the race even incorporates a ‘triple test’ giving entrants a chance to be crowned ‘King of the Hill’ or ‘Queen of the Hill’ in a timed hill climb, triumph in a 10K largely-downhill sprint section and cross the finish line first to lift the Plusnet Yorkshire Half Marathon-Sheffield title.

9th April The Great Ireland Run

Dublin is the capital of the Repubdublinlic of Ireland and is situated on the East coast at the mouth of the River Liffey. The city is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere, but there is a lot more to Dublin than the 10 million pints of Guinness produced every day!

Dublin also boasts plenty of medieval buildings to visit, including Dublin Castle and St Patrick’s Cathedral, not to mention the wide selection of brilliant shopping spots, bars and thriving art quarters.

So why not combine a great city break with the Great Ireland Run and plan your visit to join the Irish leg of the Worlds Favourite Run!
