The 2017 Jones Crisps Anglesey Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 5th March and organisers Always Aim High Events have teamed up with other local companies to offer a very special pace car.
Always Aim High Events have teamed up with the marathon’s principal sponsor, Jones Crisps and Emyr Evans of Gaerwen, to bring a fantastic Massey Ferguson tractor to the race as the official timing and lead vehicle.
It is believed that the Anglesey Half Marathon will be the first half in the UK to have such a vehicle to lead the race.
The stunning Massey Ferguson 7718, worth over £100,000, will lead the runners from the Anglesey side of the Menai Bridge and out through the town towards Beaumaris. It will then take it’s place near the finish line as runners complete the race.
Geraint Hughes, Director at Jones Crisps said: “Running across the iconic Menai Bridge on closed roads, a truly inspirational setting, wonderful support and organisation, and a free packet of the famous Jones Crisps as you cross the finish line – there’s so many things that make the Anglesey Half Marathon a unique running event, and having the Massey Ferguson tractor lead the race will add to the spectacle of the day!”
The 2017 Anglesey Half Marathon & 10k will take place on Sunday 5th March. Limited places are still available for both distances. Visit angleseyhalfmarathon.com for more information.
