Yorkshire Cat Rescue triumphed in the female category with a time of 3:53:06

Staff from Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate are celebrating after storming to victory in the Yorkshire Marathon Relay. A popular feature of the Asda Foundation Yorkshire Marathon, the event breaks the 26.2 miles into six legs ranging from 3 miles to 6.1 miles and is open to business professionals, sports clubs, associations and groups of friends.

Nearly 100 teams lined up for the relay. Team Rosie Lee from Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate took first place in the open category clocking a time of 2hrs 55mins 15secs. Sano Physiotherapy took second place in 3:00:49 with Arthrex Male Team finishing third in a time of 3:07:50.

In the mixed category victory went to Siemens Mobility who clocked 3:19:01. Second were Racing Minds in 3:22:44 and third place went to York Samaritans Team 3 in a time of 3:25:36.

Yorkshire Cat Rescue triumphed in the female category with a time of 3:53:06. The Tea Ladies from Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate clocked 3:55:24 to take second place with Clifton Green Primary School supporting Mbedza Projects Support coming third in 4:12:05.

Georgia Featherstone, Partnerships Manager with race organiser Run For All, said: “It was fantastic to see so many teams taking part in the Yorkshire Marathon Relay.

“It brings some friendly competition to the run while giving people the opportunity to experience the wonderful marathon day atmosphere, without having to run the whole 26.2 miles.

“We are extremely grateful to all the relay runners who turned out.”
