The Faroe Islands, a jigsaw of 18 volcanic islands adrift in the North Atlantic ocean, this September, will host a unique festival of trail races, adventures, and parties, in one of the most remote countries on earth.
The weekend will host four competitive trail races, including 13km, 21km, and the Faroe Islands first ever trail marathon and ultra-marathon of 65km. The stunning backdrop of knife-edge ridges, dramatic waterfalls, secluded lagoons, and ancient trails, provide an epic landscape for athletes and adventurers from all over the world. Athletes get exclusive entry to a post race party, inside a four hundred year old wooden house, with local and international DJ’s providing a race celebration like no other.
Alongside the trail races, the festival hosts guided adventures like sea-kayaking, coasteering, hiking, surfing and packrafting, all supported by local partners to access the wildest, most remote areas of this unique country.
The festival will be kick started by a welcome evening at Tórshavn’s Nordic House, consisting of adventure film screenings and inspiring environmental talks. Sustainability is a huge part of the Útilív Adventure Festival, and the Sunday will host a mass participation beach clean on one of the islands most remote beaches, supported by Ringrás, a local conservation charity.
It’s a groundbreaking event in a beyond epic location, and races will be capped, so booking soon is a must!
