Starting and finishing near the EMF Hub at Dynamic Earth, this beautiful, scenic route takes place in Holyrood Park in the heart of Edinburgh. The route offers stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and panoramic views of the city.
Runners start on Queens Drive with a 200m downhill section before heading past the steep sides of Arthurs Seat on your right and Dynamic Earth, The Scottish Parliament and Holyrood Palace on your left. Continuing on towards the 1km mark you will pass St. Margaret’s Loch before starting the ascent around the east side of Arthurs Seat. As you continue the clockwise route around this famous old volcano, you will pass Dunsapie Loch at around 2.5km. Now on the far side of Arthur’s seat at 3km runners can enjoy spectacular views of Duddingston Loch below and across the southside of Edinburgh and beyond towards the Pentland Hills. Approaching the 4km marker you will enjoy a panoramic view of the City. The route then doubles back on itself along Duddingston Low Road at 5km and through Duddingston Village at 6km. The route joins the Innocent Railway Road through 7km and 8km and then heads back up onto Queens Drive. Passing the 9km it’s now downhill all the way, back through the Start Line again and the final 250m dash to the cheering crowds and the finish line on Holyrood Gait.

Join us for this accurately measured, traffic free Ultra, Marathon or Half Marathon A firm favourite amongst endurance runners, this year sees our seventh staging of The Twilight Run taking place at the Redbridge Cycle Centre in East London. The secure, traffic-free, undulating, tarmac route sees runners covering multiple laps of the 2k cycle circuit finishing on what will, hopefully, be a balmy summers evening. The Redbridge Cycle Circuit is a purpose built sporting facility with great facilities for both spectators and runners alike. There is plenty of on-site parking plus food and drink facilities. The event features a choice of three distances from half marathon through to a 50k ultra distance, with start times varying according to the distance you select. If you aim high and select the 50k option, you can always step down to a shorter distance after you have started. The event is notorious for its well-stocked aid stations featuring hot and cold drinks on each lap – plus a selection of food and snacks from freshly made sandwiches through to soup and jelly babies! So, if you are looking for something a little bit different to the big city, mass participation marathons then this could be the event for you! The race is perfect for runners of all abilities, from those looking to complete their first ultra or marathon distance to seasoned long distance runners. The races have generous cut off times, with the circuit and event not needing to be cleared until 9pm. Your entry fee includes…Quality bespoke medal Technical t-shirt for ultra and marathon finishers – half marathon runners can purchase a shirt Well stocked aid stations along the routeRace start times… 50K starts at 10.00 am. Marathon starts at 2.00 pm. Half Marathon starts at 5.00 pm. Cut off for all races 9.00 pm.
