100 miles across a frozen lake in the depths of Outer Mongolia. By foot, bike or skates…
In a remote corner of North-Western Mongolia lies Lake Khovsgol: One of 17 ancient lakes in the World over 2 million years-old and which contains the World’s purest fresh water. The shores are lined with ancient stands of boreal forest and packed with Wolves. It is serene, hostile, stunning, intimidating. In winter, the ice freezes across its entire near-100-mile length to a depth of over a metre thick, creating for Rat Race the ultimate adventure challenge course. This is the Mongol 100 – the most surreal, audacious and hauntingly beautiful adventure challenge known to Man. The objective is to traverse the entirety of the lake from north to south, by any means: Foot, skate or bike.
This challenge is open to all comers. It is hard; make no mistake. Perhaps the hardest thing you will ever take on. Not just because of the physical challenge. It is cold. Very very cold. That cold will test everyone; whoever you are and however capable you are. But our mantra is for you to get to the start line and we will help you get to the end. And in so doing achieve something extraordinary.

A stunning adventure journey across the jungles of Central America from Ocean to Ocean…
Panama is literally the crossroads of the Americas – an exotic, steaming jungle isthmus that separates Pacific and Atlantic and course, home to the World-famous Panama Canal. Our coast to coast journey follows a stunningly bio-diverse route from one side of the continent to the other. Our route starts from the beaches of the Pacific coast and rises via land dotted with coffee and fruit plantations into mist-clad mountains at the continental divide of the Americas.
We then descend towards the Caribbean via an enormous UNESCO-protected primary jungle wilderness. Travelling this section fully self-supported, hammock and supplies on your back and machete in hand, we will emerge from this pristine jungle environment to the banks of a river. You will inflate your pack rafts and travel the remaining distance to the coast, having completed a true coast to coast adventure. It’s then time to kick off those jungle boots, board our fast boat transport and get onto ‘Panama time’ on the famous Caribbean party island of Bocas Del Toro.

They say Arran is Scotland in miniature. From dense forests and coastal scenery in the South to crumbling castles and dramatic mountains in the North, the Isle of Arran delights at every turn. Welcome to Ultra Tour of Arran – a 2 day off-road running adventure from Rat Race – the UK’s favourite adventure sports crew.
We do events differently. And for this one, we love the notion of setting sail to a location ‘over the water’ where you will feel a million miles away, but where you are in fact within easy reach of the mainland. With a simple 55 minute ferry crossing and a bundle of easy logistics thrown in, we encourage you to raise your clan and bring them over with you, enjoy our basecamp vibe, camp, run and be merry. Don’t let its size fool you though – packing an Ultra into each day over a 2 day weekend you will rack up 60 miles with some serious vertical gain. The mountains are high, the glens deep, the forests enchanting and the coastal scenery stunning. enjoy our basecamp vibe, camp, run and be merry.

A brand new race on the UK ultra calendar, we take full advantage of the Dedham Vale and Suffolk Coast & Heaths Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The route offers a relatively flat course through unspoilt countryside with sparkling estuary waters nearly always in view. More than 85% of the route is on grass or dirt trail. Conditions underfoot are typically good, here in one of Britain’s driest regions.
A continuous point-to-point race along the Essex & Suffolk coast, linking together sections of several well-established and waymarked long distance footpaths.
The full 103 mile route (‘5RU’) circumnavigates 5 coastal estuaries.
The 71 mile option (‘4RU’) bypasses the first estuary (the Stour) via a short ferry crossing from Harwich to Shotley, but thereafter shares the remainder of the full route.
The 51 mile option (‘3RU’) bypasses the first two estuaries via a short ferry crossing from Harwich to Felixstowe and shares the last 48 miles of the full route.

Held under UK:Athletics rules and with the kind permission of The Canal & River Trust, this non-stop race is from Gas Street Basin, Birmingham, along the way-marked Grand Union Canal Towpath to Little Venice, London.
Regarded by many as Britain’s premier Ultra, this is a 145 mile continuous race from Gas Street Basin in the centre of Birmingham, to Little Venice in the heart of London. Run entirely on the waymarked Grand Union Canal towpath, the easy to navigate, and relatively flat route, takes runners through a variety of urban and rural scenery – there should be something for everyone.
This is a race organised by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts. It is definitely “old school”; definitely low key, and definitely a long way. There are no entry qualifications (other than that you must be over twenty and willing to give it a good try) so runners of all abilities are welcomed. Entrants should, though, be aware that they must be able to maintain a rate of progress in line with an overall time limit of 45 hours.
GUCR is the first of a three race series “The Canalslam” totalling over 400 miles. Each race can be entered as a one-off, but competitors completing all three receive a special award.
Easy route navigation – detailed maps and a canal to follow.
Plenty of support – snacks and drinks every 10 –15 miles.
Transport for retirees – a lift to the nearest station for anyone having a bad day.
Easy to meet cut-off times – simply in line with the generous overall time limits.
No qualification – previous experience of just a marathon has proven enough.
