Where are you from?: Heywood, Manchester

Why did you start to run?: 4.5 years ago I was a size 18 and could not run from one lamp post to the next. I wanted to get fit and healthy. I just took up the walk run technique and started with just the idea of running one mile. As a consequence I have lost almost 5 stone and dropped down to a size 6-8 and am now taking on 12 marathons in 12 months in 2017.

What do you love most about running?: The freedom it gives me and how it makes me feel both mentally and physically. Running is a wonderful break from thinking about what needs to be done at work or at home and I can find some me time.

How often do you run?: 4 times per week

Do you have a favourite race you have ran?: Catforth 5k. Cheap, friendly, great village location, fantastic medal and you get a free can of lager and a pie.

Do you have a favourite medal?: London Marathon

What running shoes do you wear? Saucony Omni

Favourite film and why? Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Action packed, really funny and has a brilliant sound track for running.

Why did you start to run?: To get fit and to keep exercising after finishing my football career.

What do you love most about running? The leave and quiet I get when I’m out running and also the amazing people I’ve met.

How often do you run?

3 times a week.
