The organisers of OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO, which takes place on 21st-22nd March 2020, have announced a #MORELIMASSOL loyalty club for international runners who have taken part in the event for two or more consecutive years.

#MORELIMASSOL promises to be a great incentive to the many thousands of runners of all nationalities who gather to #RunLimassol each spring. Now in its 14th year, OPAP Limassol Marathon welcomes back many athletes keen to repeat their experience of running a flat and fast course along the beautiful Mediterranean coastline, with spectacular views out to sea and a warm, friendly welcome from the locals. The introduction of a closed loyalty club is the race’s way of thanking runners for their continued support and enthusiasm at what they call ‘the brightest marathon in the world’.

All runners who participate in an event at OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO for two or more consecutive years are eligible to join the #MORELIMASSOL community. This includes all those completing the AIMS-accredited OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO, Limassol Half Marathon, Petrolina 10K Energy Race or 5K City Race.

Eligibility for the community dates back to 2018, meaning that all those who ran at the 2018 and 2019 events are already eligible to join the #MORELIMASSOL community and receive their reward.

The loyalty reward consists of a special award box containing an OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO key of the city.

Additional benefits include being part of a community for the largest sports event in Cyprus and being first to receive news and offers from OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO.

OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO 2019#MORELIMASSOL is expected to be of particular interest to runners in the UK, after the 2018 and 2019 events welcomed the largest contingent yet of British runners. Many runners from the UK take advantage of the excellent race packages and low cost airfares in order to enjoy a full weekend celebration of running in Limassol. Taking place in early spring, OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO certainly constitutes a perfect winter training goal and a fantastic excuse for a few days away enjoying the races, climate, food, culture and first-class hospitality.

OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO Race Director Andreas Spyrou added: “OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO started as a local running event 14 years ago, and we are incredibly proud that it has grown into one of Europe’s most recognisable running events. We wouldn’t be where we are now without the support of our amazing runners, many of whom come back year after year, give us valuable feedback and cross the finish line with a huge smile on their face! For this reason, we have introduced #MORELIMASSOL as a token of appreciation to all runners who come back for two or more consecutive years.”

Runners wanting to check whether they are eligible for #MORELIMASSOL can do so at the #MORELIMASSOL page on the event website. All those who attended the 2019 event, and who sign up and go on to complete the 2020 event, will automatically be eligible.

Entry to OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO on 21st-22nd March 2020 is open. Early bird fees until 31st October are: Marathon €36 (full price €60), Half Marathon €27 (full price €45), Petrolina 10K Energy Race €18 (full price €30) and 5K City Race €18 (full price €30).
