Runners crossing the finish line at sunset

Richmond RUNFEST is ready to return to action with a Caribbean feel.

Event partner ‘Cayman Islands Dept of Tourism’, is offering a real incentive for the finishers of the Richmond Sundown 5K event! A luxury plus one trip to the Cayman Islands will be awarded to not the winner, but a randomly selected finisher. All the competitors need to do is finish the 5K that starts at 7pm on Saturday 11th September in Old Deer Park, Richmond.

Tom Bedford, race director says, “It’s been such a tough year for community running events so we cannot wait to be back. We have sadly lost many event partners due to the pandemic so we are so grateful for the Cayman Islands Dept of Tourism for not only providing this prize but also for providing the amazing after-party bands on the entire weekend.”

Adrian White, Cayman Dept of Tourism says: “The Cayman Islands are a fantastic luxury holiday destination that I am sure will act as a huge incentive for runners to finish the Sundown 5K. The winners will get a chance to run the IAAF-sanctioned Cayman Marathon (or half) as well as enjoy the miles of beautiful white sandy beaches, clear turquoise seas and Caymanian hospitality. I am also thrilled to be able to support wider participation in the Richmond RUNFEST and look forward seeing the smile on the face of the randomly selected finisher when they get told they have won a trip to the Cayman Islands.”

Entries are about to sell out. Places are still available for the Sundown 5K. Runners will receive a goody bag, technical t-shirt, medal and a free beer, as well as the opportunity to experience an exciting mix of Caribbean themed cocktails and BBQ-style food along with Caymanian music artists and an exciting headline band to be announced soon.

Public entries for the Sunday events have sold out but London’s flattest 10K inside Kew Gardens has 150 tickets left and will sell out very soon.

The Richmond RUNFEST is West London’s Largest mass participation event and is hoping to raise a total of £4 million for various charities that take part. The event is all inclusive with 6 different distanced events, kids events and a free fitness expo and music after-party in Old Deer Park.
