News just in from Nottingham’s favourite running festival; the 2019 Robin Hood Marathon Events Weekend, held on Victoria Embankment in September, raised an incredible £337,000 and charity donations are still coming in! Runners in their thousands took part on behalf of Cancer Research UK, NSPCC, ABF The Soldier’s Charity, Forever Stars, Stroke Association and Nottingham Hospitals Charity, to name just a few of the local and national partner charities.
Nottingham Hospitals Charity raised an astonishing £35,000. Henry Amor, Community Fundraiser, said: “The half marathon remains one of our largest and most important fundraising events of the year, and the feedback we get from our runners is always overwhelmingly positive. The team at Goldline Events are fantastic to work with and we can’t wait to join in with their 40th anniversary celebrations throughout 2020.”
Cancer Research UK fundraiser, Gary Keller (43yo, East Leake) said: “Having lost my Mum and Uncle both to Cancer, I hold CRUK very close to my heart and want to do as much as I can to support the vital work they do. I raised £300 this time, it really was incredible to see so many charity runners pushing their limits for their loved ones on race day.”
