FRIDAY 8th MAY launched the start of the Supernova 5K series which will be taking the UK by storm, both this year and next. The events are being held in Bournemouth on Saturday 3rd October, The Kelpies, Falkirk on Saturday 7th November, and London on Saturday 5th March 2016.
All events start at 7pm with an emphasis on light and colour around the route, providing runners and spectators alike with an unforgettable race. The Bournemouth event will turn the iconic Pier purple, the Kelpies event will light up the iconic mythical creatures at dusk, and the London event will transform your experience of the city.
Race Director, Neil Kilgour says: “We very proud to be launching the Supernova 5k series around the UK. The event has successfully taken place in Bournemouth for the past 2 years as part of the Bournemouth Marathon Festival, and we wanted to open it up to other venues to get even more people involved in this spectacular run.
“These events are for everyone, and we want to get as many people involved as possible. Whether you’re aged 5 or 50, a regular runner or you haven’t run in years; these events aim to bring families and friends together, dressed in the brightest, flashiest clothing you can find, to light up these iconic venues. The runners ARE the event!
“Everything looks a little bit different in the dark, but take an iconic venue and add thousands of lit up runners, and it begins to turn into a very special experience. This isn’t about throwing paint or getting messy, these runs will take you on an enchanting journey of light and sound. This is a great chance for families and friends to come together and do something that’s a little bit different, and lots of fun! ”
Entries for the Supernova 5K running series open on Friday 8th May and start from £12.99.
