Four fireman standing in front of their fire engine

Where’s the fire? Don’t panic if you’re in the Lake District in August and see fully kitted fireman running on the fells.

Salomon athlete Ricky Lightfoot is leading a group of fellow firefighters to attempt the Bob Graham Round to raise funds for The Firefighters Charity. To add to the challenge, twenty members of the Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service will be feeling the burn in full fire kit, swapping fire boots for trail running shoes and passing Blaze Bear as the baton between relays.

The group, which includes staff from all rungs of the ladder, including the Deputy Chief Fire Officer, will set off at 10pm from the Moot Hall in Keswick on 8th August. Ages range from 20s-late 50s with a few running virgins in their midst. As each leg is a minimum of 11 miles, a few legs (and hearts) are set to be on fire.

Give ‘em a cheer if you see them!
