Tonight’s chat hour has been sponsored by Threshold Trail Series. They’re opening up the floor to any ultra marathon related questions. Why, what, where, how?! No question’s a silly question. As well as members of the Threshold team, they have also invited some of their most trusted experts to help give specific advice on training and nutrition.
The Threshold Trail Series is made up of three award winning events: HEINEKEN Race to the Tower, Race to the King and Dixons Carphone Race to the Stones. Each route takes you along some of the UK’s most iconic and beautiful trails. All three events are open to novices right through to experienced athletes; you can walk a marathon in a day or run a double marathon over two. The support is unbeatable, there are pit stops brimming with food for you to refuel on along the way and every event has a basecamp with stunning panoramic views at it’s mid-point. Two-day participants stay overnight in these tented villages and get to enjoy delicious food and a well deserved massage before completing the challenge the following day.
Join in tonight’s conversation @UKRunChat on Twitter 8 until 9pm and pick the brains of the experts!
Meet the panel
Ask all things logistics, we’ve been organising endurance events for 9 years. With Dixons Carphone Race to the Stones winning ‘best endurance event’ last year, we’re obviously getting a few things right!
Kerry is a mum of four, MDS finisher and fantastic personal trainer. Not only has she completed RTTS & RTTK, she’s also trained novices to take on the events too.
Ed, is a Sports Rehab Specialist and remarkable endurance athlete. He came second at Dixons Carphone Race to the Stones last year & is planning to take on Race to the King in 2017.
Maggie, runs her own trail running group from London and has fantastic insights into ultramarathon nutrition strategies after working on her own over the past year. She has completed RTTS twice and is going to take on RTTK in 2017.
We all look forward to interacting with you all this evening.
