Howden insurance team entertains spectators at Shrewsbury Half Marathon

Families and supporters were kept entertained at Shrewsbury Half Marathon thanks to activities provided by a town centre business.

Staff from Howden insurance, formerly A-Plan, based in High Street, were at the DMOS People West Mid Showground as part of the firm’s sponsorship of the ParetoFM Shrewsbury Half Marathon on Sunday, October 8.

Ellie Cole, assistant branch manager, said it was a great day and everyone enjoyed the activities on offer.

She said: “The half marathon route goes right past our front door in High Street, so it seems natural for us to support the event.

“We were keen to provide some entertainment for those watching, especially the younger ones, and our face painter was certainly kept busy!

“We also wanted to use the opportunity to explain to people about our change of name. A lot of people will have known us as A-Plan insurance but we are now called Howden insurance after joining the Howden Group a couple of years ago.

“The name is the only thing that has changed, we are continuing to provide the same excellent service from our High Street offices with the same friendly team available to help with any insurance needs.”
