Total Motion Events Broadgate Tower Run Up

Top stair climbing athletes from all over the world are preparing to gather in London for The Broadgate Tower Run Up on Saturday 24th November 2018.

This highly-anticipated event is hosting the London leg of the prestigious Vertical World Circuit (VWC) and will see some of the world’s best stair climbers take on the 35 floors and 877 steps of The Broadgate Tower.

Broadgate Tower Total Motion EventsLast places are available for anyone still wishing to sign up to this thrilling skyscraper race, the eighth and penultimate VWC event for 2018.

There are just 8 places left for the 12:00 Individual Single Climb and Firefighters wave, which will see some firefighters climbing in full breathing apparatus for The Firefighters Charity. 11 places remain for the 13:30 Individual Single Climb and 39 places remain for the 14:00 Individual Single Climb and Family Climb. Last entries will be accepted until midnight on Tuesday 20th November.

Organised by the UK’s leading stair climbing specialist events company Total Motion Events, The Broadgate Tower Run Up is a superb festival of stair climbing and the first of its kind in the UK. Children as young as 8 years old will be climbing the 161m of the tower and there will be numerous distances and waves throughout the day, including the Individual Climb, Family Individual Climb, ¼ Vertical Mile (3 climbs to the top) and Full Vertical Mile (12 climbs).

Among those lining up for the Elite Waves will be elite stair climbing athletes from Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Italy, Japan, Philippines, Poland, Spain, UAE, USA and UK, reflecting the importance of The Broadgate Tower Run Up on the VWC and among the global stair climbing community.

Male elite athletes at The Broadgate Tower Run Up include: Omar Bekkali (BEL) – currently 3rd in VWC Rankings; Mikel Besora (ESP) – currently 8th in VWC Rankings; Ignacio Cardona Torres (ESP) – currently 6th in VWC Rankings; Adam Holland (UK) – over 220 marathon victories and top 5 globally; Mark Howard (UK) – fastest time at Broadgate in 2018 with 4:10; Antonio Soler Llidó (ESP) – currently 10th in VWC Rankings; Rauno Tiits (EST) – winner of The Broadgate Tower Run Up 2017.

Female elite athletes include: Cristina Bonacina (ITA) – currently 3rd in VWC rankings; Sarah Frost (UK) – UK Tower Running Champion 2018, Broadgate Tower Record Holder (5:07), winner of The Broadgate Tower Run Up 2017 and record holder at The Gherkin, Cheesegrater and Spinnaker Tower; Rosalyn Russell (PHI) – currently 2nd in VWC Rankings; Yuko Tateishi (JPN) – currently 5th in VWC Rankings.

The race records for The Broadgate Tower Run up are 3:58 by David Robles (Spain) and 5:07 by Sarah Frost (UK).
