The organisers of the award-winning Ealing Half Marathon have announced four charity partners for the eighth anniversary event taking place on Sunday 29th September 2019.

Alzheimer’s Society and Cancer Research UK return as Platinum Headline Charities following demand from previous years, while Macmillan Cancer Support and Meadow House Hospice are welcomed as new Gold Charities.

Since it was established in 2012, Ealing Half Marathon has been a superb platform for charity fundraising, with over £2 million raised to date. The race is a big favourite among the running community and always welcomes many charity runners among the thousands who take part each year. With the prompt announcement of official charity partners for 2019, it is hoped that many runners will be encouraged to sign up and raise money for these excellent causes.

Alzheimer's SocietyAlzheimer’s Society is the only UK charity investing in research into dementia care, cause, cure and prevention, whilst working to meet the needs of people affected by dementia and inspiring change. All fundraising efforts at Ealing Half will help the charity to make greater progress towards its vision of a world without dementia. A charity place can be secured with a £10 registration fee and the minimum fundraising target is £300.

Cancer Research UKCancer Research UK is the world’s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research. The charity’s pioneering work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has helped to save millions of lives, and support from runners at Ealing Half Marathon will help them to take another step closer to beating cancer. Charity places are free for runners who pledge to raise £350 or more for their life-saving research.

Macmillan Cancer Support Ealing Half MarathonMacmillan Cancer Support promises to be another popular choice for runners wanting to make a difference to others. As one of the largest British charities, it provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer, with a goal to improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK. To request a fundraising pack or to apply to run for Macmillan Cancer Support, visit the website. Charity places are free for runners who pledge to raise £300 or more in sponsorship.

Meadow House Hospice Ealing Half MarathonLocated in the grounds of Ealing Hospital, Meadow House Hospice is one of London’s first NHS hospices and holds special significance to many in the local area. It provides specialist palliative care services to the residents of Ealing and Hounslow through its 15-bed inpatient unit, active day hospice and clinical support to patients in their own home. The Hospice also provides valuable support to the families and carers of those with life-limiting or terminal conditions. To request a charity place with Meadow House Hospice, email lynnemay@nhs.net. As well as raising substantial amounts for charity, Ealing Half Marathon is well known for its incredible community support and friendly atmosphere. It was voted the UK’s Best Half Marathon for three consecutive years at The Running Awards and is a sell-out each year as runners secure their place to experience the famous #EalingFeeling.

The 2019 Ealing Half Marathon will be the eighth edition of the race and it is set to be the biggest and best yet. The UKA-measured, single-lap course follows a closed-road route around the leafy streets of West London, taking in parts of Central Ealing, Montpelier, Pitshanger, West Ealing, Hanwell and St Stephens. The race starts and finishes in Ealing’s Lammas Park, where the race village is located.
