Bib Numbers

All participants who signed up, up to and including Friday 20th September at midday, your bib numbers have been posted. If you signed up after midday on the 20th September then your bib will be waiting for you at Race HQ on race day. Look for the “BIB COLLECTION” queues.

Your will notice your bibs show our finish line marshals your finishers t-shirt size in the bottom right hand corner. If you have chosen to plant a tree rather than take a finisher t-shirt you will see a tree logo here instead.

On the day parking

Parking is available at the showground and there is a £3 charge which goes directly to the Shropshire County Showground charity. Please have £3 in change ready when you arrive.

The routes

The routes are signed with high viz signage which both races follow with two exceptions.  Half marathon runners follow the high viz signage at all times.

There are two places on the route where metric half marathon runners follow a different route and these will be signed with blue signs with white arrows.

Almost the full first 3 miles of both of the races are the same route. They split just before the 3 mile markers for each race.

The first place is:

At just before 3 miles into the race at the Welsh Bridge. Metric half marathon runners will run straight through into Victoria Avenue, passing Hickorys Restaurant on your left and into The Quarry. Half marathon runners will turn right and run over the Welsh Bridge into Frankwell.

The second place is:

When you return into the West Mid Showground.

Once our two races merge in The Quarry, participants of both races will follow the same route all the way back to the Showground.
When you get back to the showground, half marathon runners will follow the high viz yellow signs with black arrows as you have done for the full race.
Metric runners with follow the blue signage with white arrows to finish.
You can see the difference between the two routes below.

The routes will be well signed. Due to the out and back nature of some parts of the route you will see signage which states to either “Keep on the right hand side” or Keep on the left hand side” and other instructions.  Please follow these directions as runners will be coming towards you. They are there for your enjoyment of the race and to keep everyone safe.
