Reminder about road closures during Shrewsbury Half Marathon this Sunday
Roads in and around Shrewsbury will be closed this Sunday (19th June 2016) for this year’s Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Half Marathon.
The race starts earlier this year at 9.00am with roads being closed to traffic beforehand, for the set-up.
Roads will be reopened as the race progresses and when the last runners come through.
The event is expected to be complete by approximately 12.30pm.
Thousands of people are expected to line the route and cheer the runners on. Those arriving by car are being reminded that all car parks are open as usual, with Abbey Foregate and Frankwell car parks the easiest to access whilst the race is on.
Shops and businesses in the town will be open as usual.
