This summer the whole Crow family will be cycling the “scenic” route from end to end of the British Isles. As a relay They will cycle 1300 miles, almost 500 miles further than the 2014 Tour of Britain, pass the shadow of Ben Nevis, over the Mull of Kintyre, over the Severn Bride, over the hills of Dartmoor and into Land’s End on the 14th August.

They will be raising money for 4 different local charities. Each charity is important to us or someone we know. To find out more about the charities and why they support them then take a look at:

4 riders for 4 amazing local charities!

A message from Chris Crow

“Our summer holidays this year will be a little more challenging than in previous years ! Rather than sitting on a beach, all four of us will be sitting on our bikes for 3 weeks. I have always wanted to take up the challenge of the JoGLE but somehow I have managed to not only convince my wife Tyna, but also my children Madeleine (12) and Austin (10) that it was a challenge worth taking up. And so As the Crows Fly 2015″ was born !

Our route will wind its way down the country over 1300 miles to take in as many traffic free routes as possible so the kids have the opportunity to do as much as they can, they have pledge to cover around 500 miles each. We will cycle it as a relay as we will be manning our own support campervan.

A year or so ago this seemed like a great idea, a real adventure! but with days left to go it seems like madness. Our preparation has been sporadic with the odd family ride out around East Devon, but we are an active family and your body can do anything your mind tells it too !! Madeleine and Austin are super fit and compete most weekends at various sports, triathlon, beach surf lifesaving, rugby, water polo, running and loads more, so we are hoping they’ll drag Tyna and me through !!

We are still really excited, we are not sure what to expected really. Tyna has read countless books and accounts of other rider’s experiences, she has mapped dozens of possible routes, planned stop over; but it is quite clear that this will be a one off family experience and we just need to remember to enjoy it !!

To keep us going we have each chosen a charity that is important to us, all great local charities who have had an impact on our lives and the lives around us:
