The Grounded Events Company, organisers of one of the UK’s largest mass participation sporting events, Brighton Marathon Weekend, has announced a new partnership with leading, global running brand ASICS.

This new alliance will see ASICS become the official Footwear Partner for the 2022 Brighton Marathon Weekend, scheduled for 8-10 April 2022. ASICS will give registrants free access to the Runkeeper Go™ premium experience. The app features premium training plans and Guided Workouts led by ASICS Running coaches. Additionally, users can easily set goals, train and track their progress in the lead up to the event. ASICS will provide marathon and 10k runners with valuable insights and advice on their footwear, alongside inspiration from official members of the ASICS FrontRunner Community: a team of like-minded athletes, driven to uplift, educate and motivate others.

Tom Naylor, Event Director of Brighton Marathon Weekend, said, “I am thrilled to welcome ASICS to Brighton Marathon Weekend. As a company, we constantly strive to innovate and develop the ways in which our partnerships can enhance the participant experience. With its running heritage, expertise, and unrivalled digital platforms, ASICS is uniquely positioned to support runners and riders throughout their journey, adding huge value to their training and preparation. ASICS will undoubtedly help many people achieve their 2022 Brighton Marathon, BM10k or BM Ride goals next April.”

Lucy Greenhalgh, Marketing Manager for ASICSTM UK, added, “It’s really exciting to be partnered with Brighton Marathon Weekend. We’ve always believed in the positive impact of movement on the body and on the mind. It’s our founding philosophy and it’s never meant more than right now. We know how important movement is, so whether people are running the full marathon or the 10K, the Brighton Marathon Weekend is a fantastic opportunity to put the power of sport into action.”

Alex Vander Hoeven, Race Roster & Runkeeper CEO commented, “Event sponsorship is about so much more than what happens on race weekend. The Brighton Marathon Weekend team understands this and will be a great partner in helping ASICS reach runners during their journey leading up to the race. We are very excited to have the opportunity to engage with runners while they prepare for this amazing event!”

Following a successful return to the city’s streets this September, after nearly two years of postponements and cancellations, Brighton Marathon Weekend 2022 is set to be a very exciting year for all involved.
