GO TRI have today announced they are to embark on a year-long partnership with Europe’s number one sports retailer, Decathlon.

The partnership will see the retailer, which currently has 44 stores across Great Britain, produce a GO TRI specific product range; offering high quality products and packages at affordable prices.

The coming 12 months will also witness GO TRI brand presence introduced in selected UK stores, with several locations set to host both GO TRI in-store activity and run community GO TRI events.

GO TRI was formulated by British Triathlon in a bid to offer a low-cost, easy access route into swim, bike and run. Since it’s conception in 2011, the programme has seen more than 47,000 GO TRI starts and the vision is to see 100,000 individuals join GO TRI’s online community by 2020. Now there are a range of products that cater for a wide spectrum of participants, from beginner swimmers, to individuals putting swim, bike and run together in an event context for the very first time. Training sessions and events take place in a zero-pressure environment, with a clear emphasis on completing, not competing.

Decathlon are open in their mission to make sport accessible to as many people as possible and help inspire and guide customers through their sport experiences. With both GO TRI and Decathlon’s aims so naturally aligned, the partnership will see the organisations working in collaboration to achieve their strategic objectives.

Andy Salmon, British Triathlon CEO, said: “Joining forces with Decathlon will open many doors for GO TRI and will help continue our passion to inspire even more individuals to take on the triathlon challenge. Together we can help create more accessible opportunities within swim, bike and run, and I’m excited to see how the partnership will evolve over the coming year.”

Nicholas Manzoni, Triathlon Leader, Decathlon UK said: “The partnership with GO TRI is a great opportunity for us to get more people active and inspire and encourage them to try the Triathlon discipline. There are so many benefits to being active and swimming, cycling and running are a great way to keep fit and healthy. Decathlon and GO TRI are sharing the same values around accessibility of sport, so I am confident that this journey will bring lots of success stories.”
