children celebrating at the finish line

The Ealing Mini Mile has sold out! The Ealing Half Marathon Legacy CIC’s annual children’s event has sold out following its official public launch on Thursday 17 June.

The ever-popular children’s running event is back following its postponement due to COVID restrictions in 2020. This year the organisers have worked hard to enable a safe event and allow more entries at the same time. The event is hosted in Lammas Park on Saturday 25 September 2021, the day before the Ealing Half Marathon.

The Mini Mile is for children between the ages of 6-16 years. Demand in the 6/7 and 10/11 year old age groups was such that two new races have been created for these age groups, creating 7 stand-alone races under the Mini Mile umbrella. There is also a Family Mile catering for children up to 5 years old (accompanied by parent/guardian). All races are sold out and waiting lists are now closed, however, there are still a few places available in the 12-16 year-old race.

Race Director Sandra Courtney stated, “We’re delighted to have sold out the Mini Mile in such quick time. This shows the fantastic demand that exists for events that inspire and challenge children. We’re also incredibly appreciative to many of last year’s Mini Mile entrants who kindly and generously donated the value of their 2020 race place to the work of our not-for-profit organisation.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming all of the children for the Mini Mile and to the hopeful return of the ‘half with a heart’, the Ealing Half Marathon the following day. The Ealing Half Marathon can only happen if more people enter, so please enter the event today.”

Entry to the Ealing Half Marathon 2021 (Sunday 26 September 2021) is still available. A COVID guarantee also offers a refund if the event cannot go ahead.
