SCOTT Sports has released a short movie Hike & Fly, documenting Andy Symond’s latest project and the new hike & fly record he achieved on the Vertical Kilometer of Le Grand Serre in Cholonge, France. On May 14th, Andy took on the challenge of hiking up and paragliding down this mountain as many times as possible in 24 hours. Under a hot sun during the day and a full “super moon” at night, Andy kept an amazing pace and took no shortcuts to achieve his ambitious goal – not even a short nap or a proper food stop in between!

Team mate Iris Pessey from SCOTT’s RC Team showed up to support Andy on his solo mission, and confessed that “the idea was to stick with him as long as I could for the 24 hours, but that lasted 20 minutes. I was quite impressed by how fresh he felt”.

After pushing the limits of human endurance during day and night, Andy managed to achieve his goal and set a new record by climbing a total of 16.976 meters and flying down 15 times. The film Hike & Fly about his attempt is now available on the SCOTT Sports YouTube Channel.
