The London Triathlon returns this year on 7th August with thousands of people coming together as a community of incredible triathletes.

Participants can support a host of charities including Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH) which is this year’s official headline charity partner!

Setting off from East London’s ExCel Centre, Royal Victoria Dock, the unique urban route gives participants the chance to swim, bike and run past London’s world-famous landmarks!

Whether new to this multi-sport event or a seasoned pro, the London Triathlon provides various distances from Super Sprint to an Olympic Triathlon. Every finisher will leave with a huge sense of achievement and this serious piece of metal that doubles as a handy multi-purpose bike wrench!

Limelight Sports Club has partnered with BADU Sports to create a grassroots triathlon training programme ahead of the London Triathlon. The programme will empower children and young people through sports and break down barriers that are traditionally associated with triathlons. Teenage athletes from ethnic minorities, some of which had no swimming experience, are currently in training and will take on their first-ever triathlon at this year’s event.

Figures released by the British Triathlon Federation and Sport England show that:

  • 2% of British Triathlon / Home Nation members are black or from ethnic minorities
  • 95% of black adults and 80% of black children in England do not swim

Anyone under 25 can take advantage of Limelight Sports Club membership for just £1. Giving them up to 50% off events including Hackney Half, ASICS London 10K, Blenheim Palace Triathlon, London Duathlon, and Oxford Half.
