Joma has launched the RS-9000, a lightweight road racing shoe weighing 126g, ahead of the 2026 Marrakech Marathon.
Joma says the shoe has been developed for road racing and tested at its J Lab, including testing under high levels of physical exertion.
The RS-9000 has an 8mm drop and features Joma’s Light Reactive technology, a specially injected Pebax-based midsole compound designed to provide cushioning and responsiveness while keeping the weight down.
An internal carbon plate is incorporated into the midsole, with Joma saying it is designed to improve energy transfer and provide stability at higher speeds. The shoe’s geometry is intended to support smooth transitions through the stride.
The upper uses lightweight nylon yarn reinforced with polyamide. Joma says the materials are designed to adapt to the foot while helping with moisture management.
Underfoot, the shoe uses a CPU outsole, positioned in areas with the greatest contact with the road to provide traction and wear resistance without adding unnecessary weight.
Marrakech edition
The RS-9000 being used for the Marrakech Marathon features colours inspired by the city and the race, with red, blue, yellow and black detailing against a white base.
The word ‘Marrakech’ appears on the side of the shoe, while palm-tree motifs feature on the outsole.
The Joma RS-9000 weighs 126g and has an 8mm drop. It is designed as a road racing shoe.
