The organisers of the Lincoln Half Marathon have announced that there is still time to enter the race which takes place on Sunday 1st October 2017.

With less than eight weeks until race day, the beautiful half marathon in historic Lincoln is filling its 5,000 places as runners from near and far secure their spot on the start line. The event is returning for its second year after a hugely successful debut in 2016 under the management of leading event organiser OSB Events.

Lincoln is certainly an impressive location for a half marathon, the race taking athletes on a closed-road course into the city centre, through the vibrant harbour of Brayford Wharf and up to the magnificent sights of Lincoln Castle and the medieval Cathedral.

The historic landmarks and attractive streets keep motivation high along the 13.1-mile route and act as a big draw for spectators, ensuring a superb atmosphere and making the race a perfect opportunity for a weekend away with family and friends.

For runners with some experience, now is the ideal time to sign up to the Lincoln Half Marathon and put in a few weeks of training ahead of race day, with the early autumn date a fantastic goal to cap a summer of running.

Runners can also look forward to a professionally organised race village at the Lincolnshire Showground, which offers plenty of space and on-site parking as well as a lively race hub with food, drink and entertainment.

Race Director Iain Hamilton commented: “We are excited that it is less than eight weeks now until the Lincoln Half Marathon, and remaining places are being snapped up by runners wanting to experience this friendly race in one of Britain’s most impressive historic cities. The first Lincoln Half Marathon was warmly received and we are looking forward to plenty of support from runners, spectators and local residents on the day. Now is the perfect time to sign up and have a fantastic race to look forward to this autumn!”

OSB Events have hosted hundreds of events for thousands of competitors in and around the Midlands. They are the team behind the award-winning Outlaw Triathlon, the Triathlon Relays and the Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon, as well as many other triathlon, running, duathlon and swimming events.

The Lincoln Half Marathon starts at 9.30am on Sunday 1st October and entry costs £32 affiliated / £34 non-affiliated. The race supports two official charities, Cancer Research UK and local charity The Ethan Maull ‘Up Yours to Cancer’ Foundation.
