The Montane Winter Spine races are in full swing, with the full 268-mile course along the Pennine Way testing the limits of even the toughest runners. Leading the pack, Eugeni Roselló Solé (Spain) is dominating the men’s race, while Anna Troup (Lake District) and Johanna Antila (Finland) are setting the pace in the women’s race.

Meanwhile, the inaugural Sprint North has produced some incredible performances and course records for the future.

Men’s Sprint North

Joint Winners: Jon Shield (Shropshire) & Damian Hall (Wiltshire) – 8hrs 6mins

3rd Place: Graham McKinley – 9hrs 9mins

Women’s Sprint North

Winner: Louise Goddard (Lancaster) – 11hrs 53mins ✅ Louise now holds both the Summer and Winter Sprint North course records!

2nd: Tasha Brooke (Lake District) – 12hrs 19mins

3rd: Ilona Morgan (Finland) – 12hrs 26mins

Louise led from the start and dominated the Cheviot loop, while Tasha, in her first ultramarathon, delivered a stellar debut. Ilona ran alongside her son and husband, highlighting the true “Spine Family” spirit.
