Tri Travel have announced that they are set to release a limited number of guaranteed entries for the sell-out triathlon event, Escape from Alcatraz.
Escape from Alcatraz is one of the world’s most iconic triathlon events, selling out year-on-year, with a reported 10,000 applicants vying for only 2,000 spots, making it a must do for any triathlete’s ‘bucket list’. Replicating the infamous prison escapes in modern history, the event starts in the waters off the Alcatraz coastline, with a 1.5 mile/2.4km swim through San Francisco Bay, exiting via Marina Green. The 18 mile/29km bike course then enjoys some of the most iconic San Francisco sights and sounds, and the 8 mile/12.9km run passes under the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge, with the challenges of deep sand and a 400 step sand ladder, before an electric finish line at Marina Green.
The 2024 iteration of the event takes place on Sunday 9th June, and despite having sold out several months ago, the team at Tri Travel are excited to announce that they have a limited number of entry-inclusive packages for the event, making them the only tour operator outside of America with access to entries.
And accompanying guaranteed entry to the event, the Tri Travel team have also curated a once in a lifetime travel offering. The packages available include hotel accommodation, as well as all logistical and transport bookings, to ensure a seamless travel experience from start to finish. Bike rental will also be included to save competitors having to negotiate travel with their bikes, and for those that want to make a real trip out of it, a special curated trip to the nearby wine region will be available as an optional extra.
