Sportive Breaks have announced the launch of their new self guided cycling holidays; independent cycling trips that explore some of the most iconic cycling destinations across Europe.

Sportive Breaks promote bespoke premium travel packages for cyclists looking to take part in the world’s most prestigious grand tours, cycling classics and weekenders. The team offer a range of customised travel packages including cycling tours, training camps, hospitality, and VIP experiences, allowing their customers to experience some of the world’s most popular cycling events and training destinations.

And new additions to their 2024 cycling portfolio is a selection of self-guided road cycling holidays, flexible travel packages for the independent cyclist, keen to be in control of their trip itinerary.

Four Spanish trips are available to book – Mallorca, Girona, Calpe and Tenerife – iconic destinations for the keen cyclist, famed for their smooth roads and warm weather. A selection of specially curated local cycling routes are provided prior to travel, which can be accessed using a GPS navigation app on a smartphone or downloaded to a GPS device. Developed by the expert Sportive Breaks team, the routes have been thoughtfully put together to cover the best that the destination has to offer, and cyclists will have the benefit of being able to choose which ride they want to follow each day, at their preferred speed and time, without the headache of thinking up their own route.

Comfortable ‘single-centre’ accommodation will be provided, and half board, private airport transfers and road or electric bike rental is also available, to make the travel experience as seamless as possible.

Christian Locke, Head of Product at Destination Sport Experiences said: “We recognise that not all cyclists can, or indeed want to join others on a training camp, and yet are still keen to explore the choice of routes that a destination has to offer. These trips are the ideal compromise, it’s possible to discover the best roads with the support of the best in the industry but to be completely on your own terms. We expect to see a lot of interest from cyclists that are training for a specific event, and from cycling clubs and teams that seek the flexibility to do their own thing, but at the same time want to get the very most out of their trip away.”

Christian continues: “I’m excited to add these packages to our portfolio and look forward to welcoming our first customers onto their trips in the coming months. This is another significant development for Sportive Breaks, and we are excited to be able to expand upon the breadth of our cycling travel package proposition.”
