Entries are now open for one of Lincoln’s most popular children’s charity fun runs – the Arena Group City of Lincoln Fun Run.

Taking place at 9.00am on the same day as the City of Lincoln 10K, Sunday 30th October, the event is open to anyone aged 3 years plus; offering a perfect opportunity for families and friends to stay active and healthy together.

Participants will wheel, walk, jog and run a 3.5km route around the city centre, while being cheered on by the crowds that Lincoln is renowned for. All participants will receive a selection of goodies and a medal to celebrate their achievement.

The Arena Group City of Lincoln Fun Run is a welcome addition to the 2022 Run For All calendar; part of Jane Tomlinson’s lasting legacy.

Jane raised £1.85m for children’s and cancer charities before her untimely death from cancer aged just 43 in 2007. She made headlines across the world by competing in a series of epic endurance challenges from the London Marathon, Ironman and triathlon competitions, to a 4,200-mile cycle ride across the width of the USA – despite being diagnosed with incurable cancer.

Her family continue to raise funds in her name, and through the Jane Tomlinson Appeal and Run For All, more than £10m has now been raised for charities.

Open to runners of all abilities and backgrounds, the event will provide a much-needed fundraising boost for a number of deserving local and national charities.

The City of Lincoln 10K Fun Run also sees Arena Group returning as title sponsor of this year’s event. The sponsorship forms a vital part of Arena Group’s wider aims to support key community-based initiatives.

Run for All and Arena Group are encouraging children of all backgrounds and abilities to take part in the Fun Run, including those with disabilities and any other special considerations. As part of its sponsorship of the events, Arena Group is looking to increase participation by offering 150 free entries to local schools in Lincoln, and is encouraging schools to get in contact with Run For All directly to redeem these entries.

Gary Putson, Managing Director at Arena Group said, “We are delighted to be supporting the City of Lincoln Fun Run and we remain immensely proud of our long association with the Run for All team and the Jane Tomlinson Appeal.

“The event is a great way to encourage anyone, regardless of ability or background, to get out and be active and for many there’s the added incentive of supporting a cause close to their hearts.”

Tristan Batley Kyle, Operations Director at Run For All, added, “We are so excited to return to the streets of Lincoln for the Arena Group Lincoln Fun Run in 2022. This will be the first time we’ve held the Fun Run since 2019 so we are really looking forward to being back in the city and welcoming people to take part in this popular event.

“All of our Fun Run events are created to be entirely inclusive, and we encourage people of all ages to take part regardless of ability. If you or your child have mobility issues or any other special considerations, please get in touch so we can help you have the best experience.”

Organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, the Arena Group Lincoln Fun Run forms part of the Run For All Fun Run series, which includes events in Bury, Leeds, Sheffield and York.
