The Vitality Big Half will be postponed to Sunday 22 August 2021. The event was originally scheduled to take place on Sunday 25 April.

Hugh Brasher, Event Director, said: “Following the government announcement of the planned roadmap out of lockdown on Monday, it is clear it is not possible to deliver a socially distanced The Vitality Big Half as planned on Sunday 25 April and the event will now go ahead on Sunday 22 August.

“We are extremely grateful for all the support we have received as we have worked to find an alternative date, with particular thanks to City Hall, the host boroughs of Greenwich, Lewisham, Southwark and Tower Hamlets, The Royal Parks, Canary Wharf, the Royal Museums Greenwich, Transport for London, the emergency services, Vitality and all our other sponsors.

“We know this postponement may be disappointing news for many but as the national vaccination programme continues to roll out, we are all looking forward to The Vitality Big Half taking place in August.

“We know that there will be questions from runners, charities and others. We are emailing all runners and charities today and we will also post regular updates on our website and social media channels.”
