British Cycling has confirmed that Leicester will host the 2021 British BMX Championships, along with the dates and venues for the HSBC UK | National BMX Series.

While the majority of the 2020 season was lost due to the Covid-19 pandemic, almost all of the cancelled events in the BMX series have been successfully rescheduled to near-identical dates in 2021. The opening rounds will take place in Birmingham in April, while it is hoped that the series will conclude in Manchester’s HSBC UK National Cycling Centre in September, with the exact date to be confirmed in due course.

The British BMX Championships will take place at the Huncote Leisure Centre in Leicester for the first time over the weekend of August 29 and 30. Ellie Featherstone and Quillan Isidore return as defending champions and will be looking to retain their national champions’ jerseys following their victories at Derby’s Alvaston Park in 2019.
