The ballot for the 2026 TCS London Marathon will be opened as part of a spectacular immersive digital display at the Outernet in central London on Friday 25 April 2025 to celebrate the 45th edition of the world’s most popular marathon. The ballot will remain open until Friday 2 May 2025.

Participants and supporters from the past 44 London Marathons are invited to share selfies and photos from their Marathon Day experience for a chance to see them displayed at the world’s largest collection of screens at The NOW Building, Outernet, by Tottenham Court Road on Friday 25 April.

To be part of this historical digital exhibition, participants and supporters are asked to share their photos on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #MyLondonMarathon. The Outernet display will be open to the public from 09:00 to 17:00 on Friday 25 April.

Hugh Brasher, Event Director, said: “It’s wonderful to be opening the ballot for the 2026 TCS London Marathon at our unique digital display of Marathon Memories at Outernet, as part of the celebrations of this year’s 45th edition. I can’t wait to see the images of some of those 1.3 million finishers who have so far completed the London Marathon since our first year in 1981.

“The London Marathon is a day like no other when we see the very best of humanity coming together, and we hope that everyone who visits Outernet on 25 April, or spectates on Marathon Day, or watches the live coverage on the BBC will be inspired to enter the 2026 TCS London Marathon ballot.”

The TCS London Marathon is the most popular marathon on the planet with a world record 840,318 people entering the ballot for this year’s event. The 2025 edition is set to make history by becoming the biggest marathon ever held anywhere in the world. More than 56,000 people are expected to take part in the 2025 TCS London Marathon, which would beat the current record of 55,646 finishers set by the TCS New York Marathon in November 2024.

The ballot is a completely random draw, just like the National Lottery. The ballot results will be announced by early July.
