Joma has completed its official collection for the Movistar Madrid Medio Maratón with the launch of the RS-9000 Special Edition Madrid – a striking performance model weighing just 126.1 grams.
Already established in elite-level competition, the RS-9000 now joins the race’s official line-up in a special edition design inspired by 2020, continuing the collection’s guiding theme: “From Madrid to the sky.”
In this edition, that concept moves beyond aesthetics and into performance. If the collection celebrates Madrid’s connection with the sky, the RS-9000 translates it into race-day sensation – less weight, greater propulsion and a more direct response with every stride.
Lightness taken to the extreme
The RS-9000 represents Joma’s boldest commitment to ultra-lightweight performance. At just 126.1 grams, it is one of the lightest running shoes available, developed for experienced runners racing at very high speeds.
The upper is constructed from nylon thread reinforced with polyamide, delivering a close, precise fit with enhanced breathability. The structure wraps securely around the foot without adding unnecessary weight.
Underfoot, the midsole incorporates LIGHT REACTIVE technology – a specially injected PEBAX compound designed to provide explosive responsiveness alongside optimised cushioning. A carbon plate is integrated within the shoe to maximise energy return, stabilise the stride and promote a smooth, natural transition, even under demanding race conditions. An 8mm drop further enhances the feeling of forward propulsion.
The outsole is crafted from ultra-light and durable CPU rubber, strategically positioned in high-contact areas to improve traction while maintaining the shoe’s exceptionally low overall weight.
