Run South London, a brand-new closed-road half marathon, has today gone on sale.
Launched in partnership by The Great Run Company and Merton Council, entries opened today (Wednesday 8 April) for the inaugural event, which will take place on Sunday 14 March 2027.
Thousands of runners will take on the 13.1-mile course through one of the capital’s greenest boroughs, passing world-famous sporting venues, some of South London’s best-loved parks, and the historic streets of Wimbledon Village.
The race will start and finish at a vibrant race village in Morden Park, making the most of the area’s excellent transport links, including direct access from the Northern line. Run South London will be South London’s only closed-road half marathon, offering runners a fast, scenic and traffic-free race experience.
Paul Foster, Chief Executive of The Great Run Company, said: “With decades of experience delivering world-class mass-participation events, The Great Run Company is delighted to be partnering with Merton Council to create a landmark event for the area.
“Run South London celebrates the rhythm, diversity, and pride of South London, passing through the parks, high streets, and hidden corners that make South London unique.
“Great events change places for the better, and that’s exactly what this event will do – bring together runners, residents, and communities for a 13.1mile celebration.”
