The adidas Manchester Marathon, one of Europe’s largest and famously friendly marathons, has unveiled its 2024 finishers t-shirt which has been designed by local Mancunian cityscape artist, Meha Hindocha.

Renowned for her captivating hand illustrations, the design draws inspiration from the electric atmosphere on event day, serving as a lasting memento of the event for the 32,000 participants set to embark on the 26.2-mile scenic route on Sunday 14th April 2024.

To convey the unique essence of the adidas Manchester Marathon, Meha engaged with former participants to capture what they valued most about their 26.2-mile experience. The final design celebrates the route’s architectural landmarks, including notable buildings from surrounding areas such as “The Theatre of Dreams” Old Trafford Stadium, Trafford Arch and Lancashire Cricket Club.

The t-shirt also displays the energetic supporters with their cheering signs, the iconic Manchester tram that many participants take to reach the event, and the marathon’s beloved mascot Manny the Bee.

As part of the marathon’s Green Runner initiative, 1,480 participants have opted to not receive their finishers medal, while 639 participants have chosen not to receive a finishers t-shirt and a medal, with the proceeds being donated to City of Trees to support the planting of trees across Greater Manchester.

Commenting, Chief Executive of adidas Manchester Marathon event organiser Human Race, Andrew Smith, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with how the final design turned out for the 2024 event. It’s a tribute to Meha’s outstanding work. We wanted to showcase the magical experience of the challenge and what the adidas Manchester Marathon means to those who complete it.

“We’re excited to hand over 32,000 finishers their t-shirts and embrace their fantastic efforts.”

The official Essential Participants Guide for the 2024 adidas Manchester Marathon is set to be released in the coming weeks, covering all of the important information ahead of the big day.
