I was sent the Enertor Recovery Slide, a purpose-built recovery slide designed to support faster post-run recovery. Developed by biomechanics specialists Enertor, who are best known for their insoles, the Recovery Slide launches on 1st February and is aimed at runners who are training consistently and want to look after their bodies between sessions.

At the heart of the slide is UltraSole™, Enertor’s full-foot shock absorption technology, which claims to absorb 50% of impact. The idea isn’t to replace good recovery habits, but to support them — reducing strain on tired legs and helping you feel more comfortable after training.

First impressions

I received the limited-edition lime green pair, and they definitely stand out. I won’t be losing these around the house! Straight out of the box, they felt light and immediately comfortable to wear.

I went with my usual size and found the fit generous without feeling sloppy. There’s plenty of room through the forefoot, which is especially welcome after longer runs when feet can feel hot or swollen. They’re easy to slip on and off and feel well made, with no rubbing or pinching, even when worn barefoot.

Fit and comfort

The Enertor Recovery Slide has a wide fit designed specifically for post-run comfort. There’s built-in arch support, a met pad, and a slightly raised heel designed to reduce load on the calves and Achilles — something many runners will appreciate.

Underfoot, the cushioning feels soft but supportive rather than overly spongy. At 247g, they feel light and easy to wear around the house, while still offering enough structure to support tired feet.

The raised heel is a real highlight for me. My Achilles can be a problem area, and wearing these takes some of the tension out of the back of the lower leg after training.

Recovery experience

Enertor says the UltraSole™ absorbs 50% of impact to reduce muscle and joint strain. In consumer trials, runners reported:

  • 92% less pain or soreness
  • 89% less leg and foot fatigue
  • 87% faster recovery

I haven’t tested them after a long run yet, but after shorter runs of up to 90 mins, and harder gym sessions, they’ve been very comfortable to slip into. They give that immediate “ahh” feeling when you step out of your trainers, which is exactly what you want from a recovery slide.

Quality and practical use

Enertor describes these as a purpose-built recovery tool, developed by biomechanics specialists with over 25 years of injury-prevention experience, and they certainly feel robust and well thought out.

The anti-slip outsole makes them suitable for wearing around the house, at the gym, or at races and events. They’ve felt stable on both indoor and outdoor surfaces.

Style and everyday wear

I like the look of these slides. The lime green won’t be for everyone, but it’s a fun option, and there are more understated colourways available in bone and black.

They don’t feel like something you’d only wear for five minutes post-run. I can see myself wearing these around the house, to the pool, or while travelling to and from training.

Value for money

At £65, the Enertor Recovery Slide sits slightly higher than some other recovery slides on the market. However, they feel noticeably more cushioned and supportive than cheaper alternatives.

For runners training regularly — especially those dealing with calf or Achilles niggles — the added comfort and thoughtful design may make them a worthwhile investment rather than just another pair of slides.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Comfortable, cushioned feel straight away
  • Wide fit ideal for post-run feet
  • Raised heel helps relieve calf and Achilles tension
  • Lightweight and easy to slip on
  • Non-slip

Cons

  • Slightly more expensive than basic recovery slides
  • Limited colourways – so far

Final Verdict

The Enertor Recovery Slide is a solid recovery option for runners who train consistently, whether you’re building mileage, fitting runs around work and family, or managing the usual niggles that come with running.

They’re comfortable, supportive, and practical enough to wear beyond just the immediate post-run or gym window. If recovery and comfort are things you prioritise, these are well worth a look.
