Salomon has just released its 2024 Impact Report — the third annual deep dive into our global sustainability strategy. This edition reflects another year of learning, evolution, and action as the brand continues its transformation toward a more responsible outdoor and sportswear industry.
Nearly a decade after launching its first sustainability strategy, the 2024 report takes stock of the progress Salomon has made against its core environmental and social commitments, with a particular focus on product circularity, community engagement, and collaborative efforts within the industry. The report also outlines how Salomon’s “Change Our Future” strategy remains central to shaping the brand’s direction — and how new initiatives are helping extend product life cycles and strengthen a transition to circular business models.
“Our strategy is to establish Salomon as a modern mountain sport lifestyle brand that is inclusive, sustainable, and progressive,” explains Guillaume Meyzenq, Salomon President and CEO.
“We are committed to embedding these values into all aspects of the company.”
Key achievements in 2024
Advancing Product Innovation Through Circularity: Salomon continued to pioneer new approaches in sustainable product design:
- The S/LAB Phantasm 2: Made in France, Salomon’s first road running super shoe produced locally at ASF 4.0 in Ardèche (France), combines carbon-fibre propulsion for high performance, with locally sourced materials, for the upper, for a reduced carbon footprint.
• The Brigade INDEX, the first fully recyclable ski and snowboard helmet, was launched after four years of R&D and made entirely from recyclable polyolefins.
• In partnership with Carbios, Salomon helped unveil the world’s first 100% fibre-to-fibre bio-recycled T-shirt, created from enzymatically recycled textile waste — a breakthrough in material circularity.
Investing in People and Culture: In March 2024, Salomon rolled out its first anonymous global Employee Engagement Survey, achieving an engagement score of 7.9/10 — positioning the brand above industry benchmarks and offering valuable insights into internal culture. Employee training also remained a priority, with continued deployment of sustainability learning programs. Beyond foundational sessions, teams gained expertise in eco-design, responsible communication, CRCS certification, and more.
Building a More Inclusive Outdoor Community: In 2024, Salomon stepped up its efforts to improve accessibility by testing adaptive prosthesis prototypes for snowboarding, skiing, and ski touring alongside several athletes — devices that were then used throughout the winter season. To mark the occasion, Salomon hosted Adaptive Night at its Champs-Élysées flagship store. The event celebrated inclusive sport and was a major success — gathering athletes, partners, and community members around the latest innovations in adaptive equipment and apparel.
The Salomon Foundation also launched a new donation fund to support NGOs around the world working to make the outdoors more inclusive — complementing its ongoing mission to assist mountain professionals facing life-changing events.
