Trail & Bloom, a purpose-led wellbeing and trail running retreat operator, designed specifically for women navigating midlife, launches its first retreats. Combining guided beginner-friendly trail runs, evidence-informed strength and nutrition workshops, and restorative yoga and breathwork, Trail & Bloom offers a holistic, supportive experience set against the stunning landscapes of the Cotswolds.

Founded by Catherine, whose own midlife journey transformed her relationship with movement, Trail & Bloom meets a growing need among women in their 30s–50s for an approach to physical activity that honours the changes of midlife rather than resisting them. Catherine’s vision is complimented by Trail & Bloom’s lead facilitator, Pippa, an age-group triathlete, nutritionist and experienced running and health coach, who Catherine credits for keeping her moving, motivated and thriving through midlife.

“As midlife approached, I found myself struggling with injuries, fluctuating motivation and a sense that traditional ‘fitness’ culture didn’t fit anymore,” says Catherine, founder of Trail & Bloom. “What transformed me wasn’t pushing harder – it was slowing down, stepping off the pavement, and reconnecting with movement in nature. I created Trail & Bloom so other women can experience that same reconnection – physically, emotionally and socially.”

Catherine runs the retreats alongside a team of nutritionists, coaches and practitioners, each challenging the rhetoric around midlife fitness in their own way. Through Trail & Bloom Catherine facilitates the delivery of this expertise, with the intention of helping all women achieve their training goals through midlife, deepening their love of running and building a community of women who thrive.

Trail & Bloom retreats include:

Trail & Bloom is now open for bookings, with day and weekend retreats scheduled throughout 2026. Trail & Bloom retreats can also be customised for groups, and the team also offer running tours of the Cotswolds for groups of women wishing to explore the area away from crowd.
